We believe that financial barriers should not prevent anyone from accessing the support they need. Below you’ll find information about our session costs, available rebates, and funding options to help make counselling accessible for you or your child.
Session Costs
Adults: $200 per 50-minute session.
Children and adolescents: $180 per 50-minute session.
Towards Healing aims to support individuals who have experienced family violence or sexual abuse who, for financial reasons, may be having difficulty accessing support for themselves or their children. Please feel free to get in touch if this has been your experience.
Medicare Rebates
Claim up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
A current Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist will enable you to claim a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The current rebate amount is $87.25.
National Redress Counselling
Government-funded counselling support is available.
Government-funded counselling support is available for individuals who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse via the National Redress Counselling and Psychological Service. For more information, please contact us or go to https://www.nationalredress.gov.au
Private Health Insurance
Check with your provider for rebate eligibility.
Some private health insurance providers offer rebates for psychological services provided by an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker when you have relevant extras cover. Please contact your provider to confirm your eligibility or any conditions for a rebate prior to attending.
